Don't rewrite everything at once; run both frameworks side by side. Guides agree on a phased path: install Playwright next to Selenium, write all new tests in Playwright, migrate the flakiest and most valuable flows first, keep both suites in CI for one to two quarters, and retire Selenium feature by feature once Playwright covers the same ground. Start by auditing failure rates so you port the tests whose waits are causing pain. Expect a few months for a mid-size suite, and budget for the cost of maintaining two frameworks during the overlap.
